This is such a peaceful scene. Owning a houseboat in Seattle is such a fantasy. On one hand, you're living right on the water, able to keep a boat outside your door. You're one-on-one in nature and you're totally in touch with the elements. On the other hand, they're usually very small, tend to be damp and rock when it's windy.
There are less than 500 houseboats on Lake Union, and there are just a few cooperative communities where you own not only your houseboat but the dock too. I wouldn't recommend buying a house boat on leased dock space, as you can be asked to leave at any time.
